So, before some time I had Win 8 and everything was fine. After a while I have had installed fresh Win 8.1 system. After that I tried and tried to make USB 3.0 in function but not successful. Trying everything, reinstalling, looking from ASUS website for drivers, but then I agreed with myself that I will wait until Win 10 came out so I had hope that this will solve my problem but it didn't! :-( I also looked on forums, different threads but no luck. I have got ASUS laptop G55VW (ROG series) and on ASUS website there is no drivers for win 10 (except 8 and 9 Series chipset) and yes, it's good to know if someone could help me, my chipset is HM77 Ivy Bridge.

You can install a dkms package with r8168 driver from official Ubuntu repositories.
You will need to uninstall the driver you have installed manually, then run in terminal:
The dkms package will rebuild the kernel module (driver) each time you upgrade a kernel.
The repository for Ubuntu 14.04 contains a dkms r8168 version 8.037.00-1.
